Ready for Summer

We finished up the volcano unit but hoping to have some volcano action on July 4th. Spring has been the best = planting, hikes, the beach on warmer days, field trips, bike rides, trampoline and tent up in back yard again! J is so excited to get the month of June started. And we did by making Alton Brown's french toast from Good Eats (vol. 12 dvd). Which means we start the custard the night before, in our pj's just like Alton does. And we did. We cooked them up first thing this morn and they were great!

For summer we will be continuing more with News2You and their Unique Summer Unit. Which is a baseball theme. So we are working in some baseball games to see.
Every year I choose a few books for my summer read. So far I know of 3 for sure. I will add more as the days move along.
Here they are:

By Temple Grandin and Richard Panek

2.  Smart but Scattered (a reread for me)
By Peg Dawson and Richard Guare

By Chantal Sicile-Kira

Check them out and enjoy!
